After many years of hard practice, determination and many “oh so close” results, Holy Name Convent finally returned to its winning ways at the Asatt Secondary School Swimming Competition held in January this year. With girls topping all three Non-Competitive age groups it was possible to keep on top of the other schools.
Our age-group toppers were Mila Carter – 12 & Under Non-Competitive, Aime Alexis – 13-14 Non-Competitive, and topping the 15 & Over Non-Competitive category we had Christy Romany.
Our team picked up the following awards:
•Best Overall Non-Competitive Female – Mila Carter
•Best Non-Competitive Girl School
•Best Overall Girl School (This includes combined scores in Non-Competitive and Competitive Categories)
The victory was happily accepted by all our girls having worked for this title for some years. Much thanks must go to the coach, Gabriella Hernandez, for never giving up and always guiding us on the way to achieving our goal and without forgetting, Mrs.Aqui, Principal of Holy Name Convent, who always makes sure to get all her swimmers to participate even if it meant providing transport herself.
Hoping the determination is up kept, we look forward to defending our title in the next swim meet in November this year.
