Saint Rose of Lima (1586–1617) was the first American-born saint, known for her deep piety, self-sacrifice, and dedication to helping the poor. She led an ascetic life, rejecting marriage to focus on prayer and service. Rose became a Dominican laywoman and cared for the sick in her home. Canonised in 1671, she is the patron saint of Peru, Latin America, and the Philippines.

In adopting Saint Rose of Lima as a pillar of our school’s core values and virtues, we are not only honouring a significant historical figure but are also aided with a role model whose life lessons resonate profoundly in today’s world. Through her example of resilience, respect for diversity, and integrity, we are encouraged to develop into compassionate, driven, and ethical individuals.

On October 25th, 2024, to celebrate their feast day, the Form Six girls of Saint Rose’s house collaborated to portray an assembly to honour Saint Rose in all her glory. This assembly depicted the genuine and selfless ways of Saint Rose in hopes of inspiring the rest of the student body to adopt similar values.

Additionally, the girls of Form Six organized a fun get-together for the entire house where sweet treats and ice cream were served and fun games such as musical chairs were played. This was truly enjoyed by all Saint Rose’s girls as this celebration continued to foster the sisterhood between them.
