With the season quickly moving along, Holy Name Convent held their Annual Calypso Competition on the morning of February 4th, 2016. This year, we spiced up our usual tradition with throwing our artists a curve ball: You had to re-use the music of an older calypso.
This proved to be successful, as the entire school sang and cheered for their favourite calypso as their friends took the stage. Our panel of judges proved to have a difficult decision as a plethora of talent was displayed. However, the decision had to be made, and the results were as follows:
-
3rd: Ciel Joseph – 2west
-
2nd: Kayandra Paul – 1central
-
1st: Tamika Toussaint – 1west
The lower school seemed to give the upper school a run for their money as the dominated the calypso competitionwith powerful voices and lyrics that seemed to stay with the school population. Alongside these fantastic performers, we welcomed our very own special guest artist, Sharissa Camejo as she graced us with her award winning performance.
