Each year, Holy Name Convent comes together as a school community to celebrate the Feast of All Saints. This celebration serves as a reminder of the qualities that the saints exemplified, including those who inspire our school’s core values, such as Saint Dominic, Saint Catherine, Saint Albert and Saint Rose.

Observed on November 1st, All Saints’ Day is a significant occasion in the Catholic Church dedicated to honoring all saints—both known and unknown—who lived lives of remarkable holiness. This day highlights the humanity of the saints, portraying them as ordinary people who faced extraordinary challenges, but remained steadfast and unwavering in their faith and devotion. For Catholics, All Saints’ Day is an opportunity to express reverence for these holy figures, viewing them as pristine examples of how to live a life of virtue. Many also seek inspiration and intercession from the saints, believing they can provide guidance and assistance in specific areas of their lives.

On Friday, November 1st, students from Forms One to Six participated in an assembly to mark the Feast of All Saints. Each student represented a saint, dressing in garments associated with their chosen figure. As part of the presentation, they shared insights into the life of their saint and explained what they were the patron saint of. The assembly featured a range of saints, such as St. Joan of Arc and St. Catherine of Siena, bringing their inspiring stories to life for the rest of the school. A memorable moment was when one student, dressed in her regular school uniform, acknowledged herself as a saint, expressing her aspiration to become one in the future.

In conclusion, this assembly acted as a powerful medium for the students to deepen their connection with their faith. By engaging themselves in the portrayal of these different saints, the students honoured their virtues and life experiences, while also fulfilling their roles as Catholics by inspiring the school community to embody similar values in their own lives.
