1. How does it feel to see the team go from losing 10-nil to winning 10-1 ?
” It feels great to see the team go from losing 10-nil to winning 10-1, because it shows the journey we’ve made as a team through these 3 0r 4 years.”
2. What did the team do to improve?
“We trained harder and took a different approach to how we trained.”
3. How did the team manage to keep their spirit during the losing streak?
“We just knew that we were going to improve and that these things take time because we were a new team starting out in the league. So, we knew that this was all a part of it and we were going to make our way up soon enough, and we did.”
Brittanny Mahabir
1. How does it feel to see the team go from losing 10-nil to winning 10-1 ?
“I feel pretty joyous because from going a long way from about 4 years ago when I started, it took a lot of training and hard work to get where we are now.”
2. What did the team do to improve?
“Our team had many improvements from training harder and longer about 3 days maximum from 3:30 to 5:30. In order to improve also, we didn’t just train harder and longer, we learn ed each other’s strengths and weaknesses so the game can run smoothly and functional.”
3. How did the team manage to keep their spirit during the losing streak?
“We managed to keep our spirits with our HNC football parents. every time we had a game, they would cheer us on even if we were losing. We would talk to each other on the field and keep motivating each other even when we were losing badly. We continued to look on the positive note. Win, lose or draw, your spirit must be good because once it is good, the team will be better bonded.”
Havana Ramdeen
1. How does it feel to see the team go from losing 10-nil to winning 10-1 ?
“There is no better feeling than playing on a field with players you’ve been with for years and years, learning the game and even better, winning game after game. We’ve been the team everyone wanted to play because we were the ‘losing side’ last season.”
2. What did the team do to improve?
“As a team, we just kept at it and never gave up. We all love football and even last season when we lost most games, we still had faith in our next. Training was a weekly priority as at first, a lot of the team couldn’t even kick a ball.”
3. How did the team manage to keep their spirit during the losing streak?
“Our team is very spirited and lively. Win, lose or draw we always had a positive highlight of the game. We never gave up and knew that we had certain areas we needed to fix in order to at least try to win. We started to work on that and here we are now, on top of the table, winning 4 out of 4 games so far.”
Congratulations to the Holy Name Convent Under 20 football team, we hope you continue to prosper this season!
