On April 29th 2017, Holy Name Convent held their annual walkathon. This is one of the events where staff, students, families (and their pets) come together to have fun and raise funds for the upkeep of our school. This year, as in previous years, participants showed up as early as 6 am for registration, the first 50 people to sign up received a prize. We then commenced the zumba warm up at 7 am. After we got our heart rate up, we lined up at the green gates and proceeded to the walk around the savannah.
Afterwards, we returned to school where breakfast was served. It included delicious food items from fresh fruits, to pies and even brownies. Everyone ate and awaited for the zumba cool down to begin.
Then, the music began and the zumba instructor started the routines.
After the cool down, they announced the students who finished first in each house. The names are as follows:
- St. Dominic’s – Tahira Beepat
- St. Catherine’s – Gabrielle Doopan
- St. Albert’s – Renelle Mason-Aires
- St. Rose’s – Sydney Welch
And finally, water balloon fights and the traditional ice fights:
Thank you everyone who came out to support our walkathon 2k17. We hope to see you next year!
