Our sixth form leadership body served Holy Name with passion and charm. They were model leaders as they strived to display truth and honour. After their academic year of service, our former leaders tilted their torch and passed on their fire. 

On Thursday January 12th 2023, Holy Name Convent celebrated and welcomed our new leadership body at our official Handing Over Ceremony. Present at the event were the Form Six body, teachers, Acting Principal, Ms. Khan, Acting Vice-Principal, Sister Reneé and the majority of the student body. 

The names of our former and current leaders accompanied by their positions are as follows. 

HEAD GIRL AND VICE HEADGIRL

Congratulations to Meagan Roberts for stepping forward to be handed over as the weighty yet esteemed leadership role of Head Girl from Diella Romany. Further Congratulations to Haleigh Jardine as she was established to the position of Vice Head Girl passed from Naomi Lessey. 

HOUSE CAPTAINS AND VICE HOUSE CAPTAINS 

St. Dominic’s acknowledged their Vice Captain, Gabrielle Colthrust and House Captain, Jenique Adams. Gratitude is extended to the former captains, Jessica Aguilera, Vice Captain and Rianne Braithewaite, House Captain for handing over their beloved roles with grace and their past efforts to uphold the house motto, “Actions Not Words”. The girls of St. Dominic’s look forward to the experiences they are to share with their new Captains. 

St. Catherine’s celebrate the incoming of their Vice Captain, Sierra Hade and House Captain, Kiara Goodridge. Credit and recognition to the former Vice Captain, Eden Davila and House Captain, Jade Foncette. These girls proudly proclaimed the words “Forever Upwards” showing what it really means to be a leader. The girls of St. Catherines are beyond grateful for their Loud Lions who joyfully declared their signature “ROAR”. They also look forward to seeing their new Captains represent them with dignity and encourage them to live up to the St. Catherine’s name. 

St. Albert’s welcomed current Vice House Captain, Aveyon Letren and House Capatin Cassidy Outridge after being handed over the titles by former Vice Captain Hema Kissoon, along with former House Captain, Amelia Roberts. St. Alberts girls were privileged to experience the “Strength in Unity” from their former captains. They were taught to celebrate and shine as a community and feel the pride and zeal in their Captain’s voices as they succeeded together. St. Albert’s girls welcome their new captains and are excited to work alongside them and make memories that will last a lifetime.

St. Rose’s solemnized the handing over of their former Vice House Captain, Isabel Valere and House Captain, Kylie Sankar. They passed on their positions with poise and adoration to Vice House Captain, Kristianna Richards and House Captain, Chaya Vincent. The girl’s of St. Roses are filled with contentment and gratitude for the hard work and tenderness shown by their Captains throught their service. They truly put their all into their service, ensuring uphold the fine words they represent “First Things First”. St. Rose’s girls are sure to feel the same care and are delighted to spend the next academic year with their new Captains. 

PREFECTS 

New prefect positions were appointed to the following students who proved to have leadership potential throughout the course of their Holy Name lifetime. 

Form 1 

Form 1 West welcomed Melanya Chevalier and Sydney Sylvester as class prefects after former prefects Cherise Emamalie and Gabriella Singh handed over the positions.

Form 1 East welcomed Deandra Merritt and Moi Marie Marchand as class prefects after being handed over the positions by former prefects Mehan Khan and Tamika Andrews. 

Form 1 Central welcomed current prefects Jada Guerra and Toni Hospedales after both girls were handed over this position by former class prefects Janessa Yarna and Avisha Khodi. 

Form 2

Form 2 West welcomed Xarria Melville and Sophia Hamel-Smith as class prefects after former prefects Dayna- Marie Tang Yew handed over the positions.

Form 2 East welcomed Sanaa Vincent and Danielle Sinanan as class prefects after being handed over the positions by former prefects Ivanka Alexander and Jessie Lervold.  

Form 2 Central welcomed current prefects Naomi Jessop and Eva Nicholas after both girls were handed over this position by former class prefects Danielle Browne and Lisa Liu. 

Form 3

Form 3 West  welcomed Brooklyn Miller and Rianna O’Connell as class prefects after former prefects Alessandra Singh and Jerelle Mahadeo handed over the positions.

Form 3 East welcomed Nuriyah Ali-Cassim and Mariel Gomes as class prefects after being handed over the position by former prefect Arianna McClean. 

Form 3 Central welcomed current prefects Nneka Edwards and Makayla Pompey after both girls were handed over this position by former class prefects Anaya Ferreira and Khanisha Parris. 

Form 4

Form 4 West welcomed as Christiana-Li Miguel and Meagan Delochan-Noel as class prefects after former prefects Chelise Emamalie and Shurbrandy Pascall handed over the positions.

Form 4 East welcomed Sydney Bannatyne and Dominique Affonso as class prefects after being handed over the positions by former prefects Jeilles Jackman and Emma Patel.  

Form 4 Central welcomed current prefects Kaitlin Joseph and Isabella Andrews after both girls were handed over this position by former class prefects Anya-Marie Fitzwilliams and  Britney Pillai.

Form 5

Form 5 West welcomed Alyssa Turpin and Christina Joseph as class prefects after former prefects Leah Francis and Mya Ramcharan handed over the positions.

Form 5 East welcomed Steffani Jardine and Emma Lucas as class prefects after being handed over the positions by former prefects Joseann Borneo and Thais- Marie Furlonge- Kelly.

Form 5 Central welcomed current prefects Amanda Romany and Rebecca Lezama after both girls were handed over the positions by former class prefects Jade Huggins and Saaya Khemlani.

Form 6

The Lower 6 One class welcomed the current class prefect Danielle Dean after being handed over the position by the former prefect Kaelyn Grosberg.

The Lower 6 Two class welcomed Emma Marie Morales as their current class prefect after former prefect Arielle Valentine handed over her position.

General Prefect Co-Ordinators

The Lower 6 body welcomes Ashlee Everslee and Maria Ramirez as G.P. Co-ordinators after Jade Doopan and Nanyamka Lillywhite handed over their positions.

General Prefects

Eleanor Halfhide, Dominique Huggins, Svara Kissoon and Jolene Mora were appointed as General Prefects after Chyeanne Cornwall, Sheneka Alleyne and Erin Lum Khan graciously handed over their positions.

Immense Congrats to all the girls who have been chosen to take the lead throughout the current academic year. The student body and staff look forward to their willing service as they continue to demonstrate what it truly means to be a Holy Name girl. May you girls continue to strive for excellence as well as upbuild and inspire the student body. Additionally, we thank our teachers, Acting Vice Principal, Sr. Reneé and Acting Principal, Ms. Khan, who all assisted in the organization of the Handing Over ceremony as well as their ongoing support to create the loving and successful environment that is Holy Name Convent.
